(Photos) Scott + Tina: A Couples Staycation at the Pan Pacific Vancouver
It’s always great to go away on vacation, the excitement of travel, an exotic location, food and of course the experience. But sometimes, there is nothing more relaxing than time off, with nothing to do and no where to be. A good ol’ fashioned staycation. When Pan Pacific Vancouver invited us to enjoy an ultimate staycation weekend with them, we jumped at the chance. We packed light, grabbed our camera gear and headed to our vacation spot, 20 minutes from home.
If you, like us have never had a hotel staycation, here are a few reasons why you should take it to the next level.
Immediate relaxation: Following our 20 minutes of travel time (take that Australia!), we arrived at the hotel. Directions and parking were a no brainer and before we knew it we were up in our room with robes on, don’t judge…they looked comfy! We immediately began to unwind and the regular day to day felt a million miles away.
Insider knowledge: Since Vancouver is our home base we already knew the best places to go. After a little lounging around in the morning we headed into Gastown for coffee and pastries without asking the front desk or consulting a myriad of apps. It was refreshing to walk right to a coffee shop we knew would be delicious, leaving us with even more time to relax and explore.
Photo ops: One of our favourite weekend activities is taking photowalks together. With the Pan Pacific’s close proximity to the Vancouver sea wall, we were able grab our umbrellas, explore the area and enjoy the views; knowing our warm, dry robes were just blocks away helped our spirits as we braved the elements.
The Food: Vancouver is renowned for it’s food and our experience at the Pan Pacific did not disappoint. We ate so much incredible food we could write an entire blog post based on eating alone. Between dinners and an amazing brunch, we enjoyed every bite. This doesn’t even take into account the plethora of amazing fair that can be found just outside the hotels door. As a bonus, by saving the costs of travel, there is no guilt when ordering appetizers AND dessert. It’s basically like you’re saving money by eating well!
Room Service: Eating breakfast in your robe, that’s really all we need to say.
Swimming: The Pan Pacific has a heated outdoor pool and we loved swimming under the stars and in the cool morning air surrounded by the city and amazing views. Funnily enough, on our first evening we sat in the hot tub with 4 other couples, three of which were from the lower mainland and on staycations too.
The Spa: Remember all that money you didn’t spend on air fare? You are literally saving money by going to the spa. Have a massage, you deserve it!
So there you have it, our top seven reasons to stay + wander in Vancouver!
