2015 Vancouver Craft Beer Week

Vancouver Craft Beer Week is making its way back to Vancouver on May 29th to June 7th. The themed annual event, now in its sixth year, features a lumberjack theme. Dig up your favourite plaid shirts, ditch the razor for a few days and get ready to enjoy a full week of craft beer festivities. There are many events to attend this year, so we’ve hand selected five events you won’t want to miss.

THE VCBW OPENING NIGHT GALA

Date: Friday May 29 6PM – 10PM
Location: Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre 

Join 25+ international craft breweries as they celebrate the finest year-round offerings available in British Columbia. Your $60 ticket gets you access to the awards gala hosted by comedian Dino Archie, a souvenir VCBW tasting glass, unlimited craft beer samples from the winning breweries, and canapés from CRAFT Beer Market. Limited Tickets are available.

WHAT THE HOP? BEER TRIVIA! 

Date: Saturday May 30 2PM – 6PM
Location: Colony Main Street

Test your beer knowledge and have some fun with a room full of beer enthusiasts! What The Hop? will feature four rounds of trivia with prizes each round and one team taking home the grand prize – a trip to the Whistler Beer Festival in September 2015.In addition to the prizes, your team will get four sleeves of beer from either Parallel 49, Red Truck, Central City, Fuggles & Warlock, or Whistler Brewing and an appetizer each round of the competition. Tickets available to groups of four. 

BIERCRAFT BELGIAN SHOWCASE

Date: Monday June 1, 6:30PM – 11PM
Location: BierCraft Bistro

A VCBW annual tradition, the Belgian Beer Showcase at BierCraft Bistro is a celebration of the great craft brewing tradition of Belgium. The event will feature a wide cross section of Belgian beer styles from the old world and the new.So grab a glass and enjoy a journey of the palette and the history of beer itself. This event is ALL INCLUSIVE! (Some of the food offered will be vegetarian friendly)

SIGNATURE BATTLE OF THE BARTENDERS: BEER COCKTAIL COMPETITION V

Date: Wednesday June 3, 6:30PM – 11PM
Location: Blackbird Public House & Oyster Bar

Driftwood, Beefeater, J.P. Wiser’s Canadian Whisky, and Jameson have joined forces to present the fifth annual Battle of the Bartenders Beer Cocktail Competition. Eight of Vancouver’s top bartenders will square off at The Blackbird with only bar tools and creativity to create a beer cocktail.  Your $20 ticket includes a Driftwood New Growth (18oz), a raffle ticket for an amazing door prize, and limited samples of competitor cocktails.

VANCOUVER CRAFT BEER WEEK FESTIVAL

Date: Saturday June 6 & Sunday June 7, 1PM – 6PM
Location: PNE Centre Grounds

General Admission tickets get you entry to the festival, entertainment, and a souvenir tasting glass, while Gate Crasher tickets get you all that and into the festival an hour early.
